Fresh off the Everest summit in May 2022, Liliya Ianovskaia is pivoting straight to Pakistan to target Gasherbrum I (8,080 m) and Gasherbrum II (8,035 m) in the Karakoram this summer.
Rather than fly home and lose the hard-won altitude acclimatisation, Liliya will travel directly to the Pakistan summer season — joining a small team for back-to-back eight-thousander attempts.
Update: the 2022 season ultimately included K2 (July 22, 2022) and Gasherbrum II (August 8, 2022) in addition to Everest — a three-eight-thousander season.
